Samantha De Lucena Caldato - 06/13/1973
(Rio de Janeiro- Los Angeles - Amsterdam)
PROFILE
With a master´s in Agroecology, a diploma in plant base cuisine, and in permaculture and as a musician-producer, throughout my work, I have been reflecting on the impact of food and using our fork as a social-political tool and communication.
My focus is on creating experiences where we share the diaspora and strengths of food, rhythms and music throughout human displacement and how what connects us goes beyond borders and man-made concepts of nations. These are seeds, stories and knowledge related to our path on Earth. Bringing in my Brazilian culture with reflections and influences of music, dance, Bem Viver and interconnections to connect us in our diversity, co-creating art in a collective and
accessible way.

Founding of Ammar Seeds - 2019 to current (AMMAR Seeds is a not-for profit 501 c3 organization based in California) https://www.ammarseeds.org
Ammar Seeds diffuses knowledge and awareness of the interconnections between soil, plants, life on earth and the food we cook and eat. Our project passionately believes in the power of co-creation and the transmission of wisdom. We organize encounters bringing people together around food, stories, and contact with the land. Bringing to the surface, through conversations, the memory of the knowledge we all carry and share in our diversity. Cooking together over open fire enables us to produce common food and nourishment. It reminds us of our diversity and humanity, among others, a remarkable denominator: the agency to grow, cook and feed our means of subsistence while weaving stories around a culture of nourishment. The project aims to reclaim and share our human and communal knowledge while creating an interactive global database of the stories and recipes shared. A “seed bank” where our seeds are the oral heritage on nourishment.
